The first suburb of Aura, Baringa, is accessible to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike now that the first stage of Aura Boulevard and new bridge is open to the public.
The first stage of Aura Boulevard extend’s over Lamerough Creek to Baringa Drive. A unique feature of this road is the 75-metre bridge which has taken 12 months to complete and has been positioned to maximise views of the stunning Glass House Mountains and Aura’s spectacular remnant Blackbutt Forest.
Providing a unique entry statement into Baringa, the bridge’s structure and colours are designed to reflect elements of the local landscape and reflect the future vision of Aura as the City of Colour. Make sure you check out the unique ‘wave effect’ on the bridge and take time to admire the panoramic views of Mt Tibrogargan and Mt Beerwah.
The Lamerough Creek bridge has been designed to include specialised fauna crossings, including a separated frog underpass, ropes for native marsupials and a wide landscaped verge for other animal movements. These will ensure safe passage and connectivity for fauna through the Lamerough Creek corridor, linking Pelican Waters through to Little Mountain.
